Things are finally winding down a bit, after so much excitement. I have to say it has felt like nothing else I have ever felt before to be so busy with my Acting Career. I wrapped last Wednesday on the Travel Channel set of “Got Home Alive,” and it was one of the most exciting, adventurous and rigorous experiences that I have ever endured. The first day of shooting I was given a stunt double, but in the end it proved easier for me to perform the rest of my stunts. One of the coolest things was being able to use my rock-climbing skills to navigate on and off camera on the rocky mountainside of the Santa Monica Mountains. I was also so lucky to get to work with such a fantastic Director and Crew.

Now I am on to the next thing… I don’t yet know what that will be, but I just know that it is going to be exciting.

Next month I am looking forward to seeing some type of final cut of “Paper Dream,” and I will definitely be posting bits and pieces of it on my website.

Also, please cross your fingers for me and my recent Ford Commercial. I am hoping to make the final cut of that as well….so be on the lookout!!

Tomorrow is going to be a big day as well! I start shooting ‘Got Home Alive: Lost on Black Mountain,’ out yonder in the Forests of Thousand Oaks. I have been told it is going to be extremely rigorous and exciting, and I even have a body double! So cool…..I will let you know how that goes.

It is 6:27 am, and I am ready for my second cup of coffee and to get my day going. I hope you all have a great week, and I will be in touch soon!

My next week I have a lot to look forward to:
I was cast in ‘Got Home Alive’, which I booked through Michael Donovan Casting. I will be in an upcoming episode, playing the role of Kristy Thornbrew. The episode is called “Lost on Black Mountain,” and is based on the true story of a woman who was lost in the woods of North Carolina for 4 days. I get to relive the craziness of her journey and eventually her rescue. We are shooting for 3 days next week in the mountains of the Angeles National Forest. Should be very exciting….A solo piece, which I am so excited for.

I was also cast in some type of ‘secret’ car commercial. Once I know more, I will let you know. That shoots this sunday. More to come!

Well this little post finds me just about home after a wonderful journey to the South, in Tupelo, Mississippi. I am in Northern California at the moment celebrating some wonderful family events. I have truly been through such an amazing artistic experience, and feel a little empty after leaving Tupelo. The friends I have made, the places I have seen, and the food I have eaten (a lot of amazing food,) leaves me a little sad, but mostly excited about what may be in store for me next. I turned 30 this past June, and I knew that it was going to be an amazing year for me creatively. Since June, I shot a commercial, performed in an amazing USC Graduate Film Thesis, and shot an incredible film for 2 weeks! I feel so lucky, and also so deserving of all of this. I have worked so hard these past few years in Los Angeles, and know that my hard work is paying off!!!!

Tomorrow, my husband and I (who I missed SOOO much while away,) head back home to Santa Monica. I go back to work at the Non-Profit I work for, and am really looking forward to getting back in the flow of LA life. I will keep you all up to date with new and exciting news as it happens.

Well, yesterday turned out to be one of the most challenging days I have ever had as an Actor.  In the movie I am filming, my character (Cammy) finds out her husband has just been in a horrible accident. What an emotional scene!!! It is wonderful to be on a film set where we really get to delve into our characters through the extremely high production value. Everything is so professional, and I feel so taken care of physically and emotionally. I think it may be quite a transition coming back into the ‘real world.’

Hi ya’ll!

Yup, I am definitely getting accustomed to the deep southern twang that is so widely spoken here in Tupelo, Mississippi.  What a different world I have just stepped into.  I feel so incredibly lucky to have been chosen as one of three actors that the American Family Studios flew out to Tupelo from Los Angeles.  Chosen from over 1,000 actor submissions, we are here shooting a short (40 minute) film entitled “Paper Dream.” This is a story about a woman who desperately wants to get pregnant, and is hitting so many roadblocks along the way. It is a faith-based film, in which God plays a huge role. I play the sister of the lead, Cammy, who has no issues at all getting pregnant. In fact, I am on my third child! One really fun part about the shooting is the fact that we get to work with so many kids! They are so professional, and it has really been a learning experience.

I really have to ‘take my hat off’ to all of the amazing people who are working on this film. We are being treated like celebrities….Oh if they only knew:) !!! I am not complaining though. The food, (have I not mentioned that????) is DIVINE! But I am afraid I may be coming back about 10 pounds heavier, from all the fried delights, BBQ, loaded baked-potatoes, sweet potatoes with butter and cinnamon, cherry dump cake, banana pudding…..and on and on and on! In fact, I should be int he gym right now working all of these calories off! But in all seriousness, this has turned out to be an experience of a lifetime. I am so grateful to everyone in Tupelo who has shown true southern hospitality.

I am excited to be getting feedback on my new website.  Please keep it comin’!

Things are good on the home front…..really feeling focused on what I want to be doing with my life.   I am auditioning a TON, and just trying to put myself out there as much as possible.  I figure the more times I can be seen by these Casting Directors, the more chances I am giving myself to get the job!  I always wonder why it took me so long to get where I am now, but I suppose everyone has a learning curve, and we pave our paths in our own time.

Things are rolling along on the career front, and I am stoked on my new web ‘look’ and presence.  Thank you Jarrod Roberts for all of your help in building a gorgeous and (key word) functional site!  I have come to realize that this is the way of the world now….I just have to learn how to use the darn thing:)

I have had an exciting week, full of meetings and auditions, and have truly learned that I am in charge of my own destiny.  Waiting is not an option.  I turned 30 this month, and know that this decade is going to be full of amazing things.  I have a wonderful husband and family, and the best support network out there.  I just feel lucky.  And that feels good.
