Biography

 

Joanne Lubeck is from San Francisco, CA and has been involved in the arts since she was 5 years old.  In 2004, she graduated with a BFA in Theatre from UC Santa Barbara, and also spent a year studying acting at the British American Drama Academy, in London.  She then moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of a career in Theatre, Film and Commercial work.  Most recently, Joanne provided voice-over talent for an animation pilot entitled The Stiffs, and also appeared in a National Skechers Commercial.  While continuing her education in Los Angeles, Joanne takes Acting classes with Chris Fields, and Viewpoints with Alex Billings of Steppenwolf West.    For more than four years Joanne has been teaching with East LA Classic Theatre Company, and in early 2010 became the Program Director and Production Manager for the Company.  Joanne also performs with the Company’s professional touring productions of  Much Ado About Nothing and Romeo & Juliet. For the past five years Joanne has also been involved with Boxtales Theatre Company, based out of Santa Barbara, touring with their Educational Outreach program, as well as performing all over the country with their critically-acclaimed production of The “Odyssey”.  In this production the actors use five aerial silks, aerial acrobatics, acroyoga and various instruments from all over the world, to create a piece that has defied the boundaries of Theatre.
